So the Real World Las Vegas Reunion…slightly less fun than your high school reunion?
I can see where Bunim/Murray (and by the way, it’s been so long since I’ve watched the Real World, I didn’t realize that it’s produced solely by Murray now) and MTV were going with this project, but it’s coming off terribly disappointing. Now, I am an old school Real World viewer (my favorite season is San Francisco) so I could care less if the castmembers hook up on the first night, but I would at least like some plot or character development. Instead, we’ve been treated to two episodes recounting some sort of insane love triangle featuring Irulan, Arissa and Alton. They also refer to themselves as “The Trinity”. You know, in the same way that Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington do. Sidenote: Do you know what would be awesome? If I, A & A re-created the George Michael Freedom video. Maybe Trishelle could play Cindy Crawford and then Steven could be that other model that I always forget.
Speaking of Trishelle, she hasn’t done anything to embarrass her family yet. And speaking of families, Brynn has one. Ladies and Gentlemen, the award for Most Changed goes to…wait it’s a tie…Trishelle and Brynn! Trishelle has blonde hair, has lost her accent, and hasn’t kissed anyone. Brynn meanwhile, is married to Austin, has two children, and looks like a real adult. She also seems really mature and is almost unrecognizable to me. At one point I thought she was Katie from Road Rules: The Quest, then I thought she was Becky from New York, but more often I kept asking myself “who is that random girl? Is she someone Frank brought home?” Speaking of which, is it possible that Frank regressed?
Lastly, there’s Steven. He’s shaved his head and allegedly throws girls (and/or patio furniture) into pools, causing him to be banned from the pool area for something ridiculous like six hours or something.
Let’s be honest, I’ll watch every episode of this reunion, but something more exciting needs to happen other than Irulan crying about having to go to some fancy dinner with Alton or Frank trying to get Steve’s pool pass reinstated. Perhaps Frank should have gone straight to the LA County Sheriff; Steven would’ve been back at the pool in no time.
