Salem University’s Alpha Chi Theta must be the easiest sorority in the world to get into. Back in the day, when I attempted to get into a sorority (because I had more course credits than years to spend in school) I had to run my happy ass back and forth between 16 sorority houses spread out across four different streets. I also had to attend like thirty parties, endured numerous rush videos and awkward and stilted conversations. For one week, the girls in my rush group and I would attend parties and then rank each sorority in order of preference. At the same time, all these sororities were ranking the rushees and subsequently cutting me.
As you can see, this is a sharp change of pace from Chelsea and Stephanie’s experience, but yet somewhat akin to the girls on 90210. I mean Alpha House was going to accept Andrea for God’s sake. How does a sorority take Kelly and Donna and also extend bids to Brenda and Andrea. Sure Brenda’s pretty, but she would be in that sorority where all the girls are brunette dramatics who wear chokers and leather jackets and Andrea, well Andrea would end up in that sorority where the girls are all about community service and in constant threat of losing their charter from National.
I just can’t believe how easy it is to pledge here. The bitchy sorority president just hands out pins for everyone to grab! They barely know these girls. No one asked how they spent their summers or who their parents are. I can just hear Steph now: “I’ve been really busy flying all summer on my ex-boyfriend’s charter airline, got mixed up in a white slavery ring, forced to parachute over the Southwestern United States, got to third base with my Uncle, all while my recently-back-from-the-dead father is fake stabbing an international crime lord and my mom is taking care of her second foster son.”
How long do you think this whole sorority plot will last? I really don’t want Jett to start attending winter formals or going on hayrides. Also, isn’t it kind of weird that everyone else in their family is fighting the Dimeras and Chelsea and Stephanie are attending rush parties?
