First of all, let me say how awesome it was that John’s funeral featured clips! It’s like they shot the episode three to four weeks ago, read my blog last night, and went back in time and edited in memorable moments. Okay, not really. However, why were most of the clips random and quick? I guess they were supposed to be like memory flashes, but still. I know, I for one would have liked to see John on trial in Paris or John on trial in Aremid.
Secondly, why was John’s funeral like twelve hours after he died? Why did they have to get him in the ground so quickly? And who called Crazy Vivian Alemain? I like to think that Ivan broke the news to her. Who is she kidding with that nonsense about not being welcome in Salem? Listen Viv, if Stefano Dimera and his hellspawn can roam around freely then so can you and your faithful manservant. You’d probably get as much screen time as Anna because Sami and EJ are currently holding the show hostage, but pick your battles. One last question: I know Viv bankrolled the funeral (again–did John lose all his money and no one told me?) but where did those giant photographs come from? Did some poor night clerk at Walgreens have to print those?
I enjoyed the mentioning of Brady and Eric. I’m also glad that Anna mentioned Carrie during her eulogy because no one else did. If you think about it, John raised her more so than Roman. Their absence just reinforces that Belle is the most special Child of Salem ever. Uggh. I hope she marries Shawn and they sail away on the Fancy Face XXV.
How great was it that John Aniston completely stole the show. I love Victor, he’s like my favorite character. I only wish they would use him more. I feel like NBC trots out John Aniston every so often in hopes of luring Jen Aniston into an ill-advised Friends reunion movie. What I don’t get is why he wasn’t invited to the funeral. Steve stole John’s kidney for God’s sake but it’s all water under the bridge. All Victor did was pay off Child Protective Services to take Clare away from the mother that she clearly hates. So Victor gets up there and gives his speech, offers his condolences to the Widow Evans Black and then Old Man Shawn meets him half way with a handshake! Old Man Shawn is all about mending fences lately, isn’t he? That reminds me, are Bo and Unfrozen Caveman Shawn still disowned? I enjoy the Bo/Victor dynamic and wish that they would hang out more.
What’s up with Kate and EJ chillin’ in the Brady Pub after hours? I love how Kate just stands there behind the bar like she owns the place. (Well she was married to the Brady Scion at one point, but still.) Meanwhile, EJ’s all “just think, all this will one day be mine!”
I’m really anxious to see what will happen tomorrow. The Widow Evans Black has been relatively subdued but I think she’ll go all MarDevil on Stefano, flip out and almost commit a casket jump at the cemetery and then get into a catfight with either Anna or Kate. By Sweeps, she’ll be sleeping with Roman again. That’s a fact.

[...] or ”Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” I bet Stefano was secretly disappointed that The Widow Evans Black didn’t show up so they could mingle at the In-Laws [...]
