Easy, breezy, beautiful, cover-up!
So (and I can’t believe I am saying this) I somewhat get the logic of covering up Logan’s murder. While he attacked Maxie and terrorized Lulu, Logan was Scott Baldwin’s son and since Scott Baldwin would make a federal case out of a parking ticket, covering up the crime makes sense. Sure Mac would fight for Maxie but he’s only allowed on the show one day a week and that usually involves arresting Patrick. Alexis the DA but she’s too busy being a caricature of a career woman and sleeping with the town sociopath to focus her attentions on clearing Lulu. Scott, meanwhile, has all the time in the world to build a case against Lulu, Johnny and Maxie because all he is allowed to do is plot ways in which to bring down the Spencers. Besides, Lulu almost killed Logan months ago (again, in self defense) but I’m sure Scott would establish that as a history of violence.
I’m enjoying the fact that Claudia now has to protect Johnny and the girls. It’s like Bob Guza took a page out of the latter day Sweet Valley High novels. Since I like Claudia now, it’s easy to feel sorry for her because she’s had one hell of a night: first her father begins his usual barrage of insults, then she’s rejected by Sonny* and then she comes home to find her new condo in disarray with a dead body in the living room. Now if she ever wants to flip the place she has to disclose that a psycho went all crazy, tore the door down and met the business end of a knife right in front of the fire place. That’s going to make the value go way down and in today’s housing crisis, she’ll be lucky if she breaks even.
*Okay, let’s talk about Claudia’s day. When she’s recounting her troubled past with Anthony, she’s wearing a horrible pink top and black mini-skirt. Later that evening, she shows up in some ill-advised pink and black sparkly (and transparent in the back) corset top and leather jacket. I know that I was supposed to get something from her scene with Sonny (and I was semi-impressed with Maurice Bernard’s acting) but I was distracted by the outfit change. Surely she didn’t go home to change since Lulu was in the condo playing Rear Window with Logan so I’m not sure if Claudia keeps a change of clothes in her car or if she went to Frederick’s of Hollywood or maybe she borrowed that ensemble from Sam. Who the hell knows? Then, after throwing back a few vodkas, Claudia comes home to a crime scene. Now, is there no one else in the high rise who may have heard all this commotion? Plus, the door’s missing. Aren’t they all afraid that anyone can come by and witness them all plotting to cover up a murder? For God’s sake, Jerry Jax could swing through at a moment’s notice. He’s practically Batman.
