I feel so disconnected from this show that I couldn’t even root for Sami during the food fight. Why would I? She’s completely mental at this point. It’s all “Lucas this” and “Lucas that”. He’s running around in mixed denims and an ankle monitor for God’s sake. Let it go. She’s like Sam McCall when she was saddled with the emotional vortex that is Jason Morgan. Once she escaped, she became a much better character. What’s sad is that Sami was a great character; now she’s just whiny and mopey and wears too much jewelry.
Speaking of people who over-accessorize…Kate Roberts, everybody! I knew all about the great Daniel and Kate spoiler, but it was still fantastic to watch. Daniel all drunk and needy, Kate, a former professional sex worker with a flair for bright nail polish…it was almost too easy. Was it wrong that I imagined Chelsea finding out about this tryst and self-destructing? If it is, I don’t want to be right. What would Chelsea even do at this point? She’s already run over her half-brother, broken up Bo and Hope, and impersonated a hooker (that was my favorite!). Maybe she’ll take a page from Sami’s book and try to sell the twins on the black market. I’d love to see Sami and EJ all tearful at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve as Max and Stephanie bring the Twins home (because you know Max is the new hero).
Yes, grandma!sex did not disappoint me, though having Kate prop Daniel and the Chan pairing displeased me. Still, Kate is always wrong in these things so I’m taking it as a good sign.
