It’s a sad day when I look to General Hospital to keep me entertained, but with the sad state that Days is currently in, how can I not? Granted Lulu is a pig from Hell, but at least she has a pulse which is more than I can say for anyone on DOOL these days.
Take today’s episode (please!) for instance:
- Abe takes Theo over for a playdate with Ciara. Since Theo is newly diagnosed as Austic, he no longer wants to play with Ciara, instead playing by himself. Abe furrows his brow and lectures Hope on his newly learned Autism facts (which I’m sure he got from Wikipedia). I’m sorry, I’m still not feeling Lexie and Abe as a couple. Look, I know they’ve been married for 100 years, but they’re only interesting when she’s cheating on him or being a Dimera.
- Bo struggles with his conscious about Victor and Phillip. Haven’t we seen this subplot before? Can’t Bo just revel in the fact that he’s the biological son of the most fabulous character on this show…ever?
- Max is on a midnight train in France and the jackass actually think that he’s still relevant enough to have a paparazzo follow him. I loved it when Max was all “I don’t want to be known as a race car driver anymore”. Exactly, because he wants to be known as the son of a blue collar pub owner with a less than stellar IQ. You know, I enjoyed this subplot when I first saw it, only it was about a different Max. (Coincidentally, he also drove race cars.)
- Weepy McCries a lot was at it again. I swear, she and Sami should have a Tear Off and be done with it. When Steve mentioned that he wasn’t there when Stephanie left home to race cars, I tried to mentally imagine this version of Stephanie driving a Ford Focus let alone a race car. I just think that the constant weeping would hamper her ability to corner effectively. Poor Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans, they’re stuck between Waterworks and a pretend premature baby.
Even Kate dressed like a train wreck couldn’t salvage this episode.
