I love how not only has Johnny inherited Jason’s “second office” (the interrogation room) but also the ability to have the swiftest trials in history. I mean Logan died on July 4th and the trial is set for the week after Labor Day. Should we be surprised though? I mean, this is the same legal system that allows a “special prosecutor” whose son was murdered to preside over the trial and Edward Quartermaine, a man who fostered the defendant’s girlfriend, to be on the jury.
Is this supposed to be a closed trial? I find it curious that there doesn’t seem to be a media presence, but I guess since Amelia disappeared to film the increasingly delayed 24 season, we haven’t had any journalists on the show. Besides, while a lover, Johnny’s not much of a fighter so I don’t know if he could fight off an ambush while in handcuffs like Jason. I’m also a little disappointed that Claudia didn’t get up on the stand and do her whole “Claudia Antonia Zacchara” faux-accent she did at her father’s competency hearing. Intead we get Nadine acting like Tiresius, the blind prophet from Oedipus Rex with all of her (justified) ranting and raving. I love that she ended up in jail and I hope that someone lets Dr. Matt Hunter know about it.
Speaking of the good doctor, I am enjoying the fact that the writers are letting him investigate the drug ring instead of working out of it, like they were leading us to believe. Believe me, it wasn’t good when Dr. Mob Assassin did it and I wouldn’t put it past Guzaand Company to try it again. Although, what’s up with everyone on this show being some sort of investigator now? I mean, we have: Sam, Lucky, Nadine, Maxie, Spinelli and Dr. Matt Hunter (I feel like Nancy Grace because I HAVE TO SAY HIS FULL NAME) with the drug ring, Maxie, Spinelli, Carly and Sonny with Karpov and Sasha, Maxie and Spinelli with the Diego killings, the dearly departed Georgie and Spinelli with Cooper Barrett, and Logan, Lulu, Dillon and Spinelli with the Rick Webber nonsense. Of course, Jason is omni-present in all of these stories because in an umbrella storyline, Jason is always the guy that holds the umbrella so that every other character may walk under it.
Then there’s Kate, who can’t be bothered to investigate anything because she’s too busy planning her Wedding of the Damned, sabotaging Carly, and taking sojournsto the Caribbean. At least she knows Sonny slept with Carly. Gee I can’t wait for that rumor to pick up some steam in Page Six. Or perhaps it will make a tidy first person narrative account for the December Crimson in which Kate laments about Sonny’s affair but married him anyway because she wanted her chance to wear a Maha Chang original.
Finally, is Lulu medicated at all? I lost track. If she is, is that what’s causing her Laura hallucinations? Otherwise, is she just running around in track suits talking to herself?

Oh boy, trying to make sense of a trial on GH? Trying to figure out Lulu? Brandi, step away! Step away! Don’t do this to yourself.
God, the trial, you know, it’s hilarious. It’s just the funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time. They interview all the jurors in front of one another. One of the jurors houses the defendant’s girlfriend and made quite clear how he feels about the mob. The kid on trial is a well known mob kid. The prosecutor is the father of the victim. I feel like Tracy sitting there smirking. Would it kill the writers to watch an episode of Law and Order? It’s on air EVERY HOUR of the day, I’m sure they could squeeze in an episode or two.
Kate finally looked like a fashion queen the other day but of course, marrying Sonny ruins her anyway. I’m surprised she even confronted him. They killed that character, of course she had potential.
I’m not sure why but investigating is the new, biggest thing. It’s a shame that PC and Salem don’t have police departments to do their investigating for them. Oh…well…um…they do but they suck so we need investigators!
God-damn, Heather–I told you in study hall–Tiresias was the blind prophet from Oedipus and Antigone and The O.C. Tiberius was a Roman Emperor. Next you’ll tell me that ShanDo threw that crystal dolphin in Fiji. Or not at all!!!!
We live in a post-crystal dolphin world, and nothing you blog will ever change that.
Yes, I love that Tracy (and Dead Alan) are like the lone spectators at the trial. I just love Tracy; she sincerely cares about Lulu yet doesn’t placate her. She just wants to do right by her, which is more than I can say for pretty much anyone else on this show.
Damn spell check.
