Allow me to be the bearer of good news for all of you who care: Kate Howard will live to walk again! Yay! Except she’s still technically engaged to Sonny…who is also the father of Olivia’s offscreen son. Oops! I’m sorry, but why does Sonny get to be the Father of Port Charles while Jax has no children? If Jax were a woman he’d be Sam. I guess some people just aren’t allowed to be parents, at least not per Bob Guza.
Of course, Patrick saved Kate. Why wouldn’t he? He’s the only doctor in town that’s not on the sauce or laid up in the Burn Unit, so the job’s all his. This sets up another “will they/won’t they” with Robin and I roll my eyes and press fast forward. I know that Robin and Patrick have their fans and they’re probably the most realistic couple on this show, but to me they’re insufferable. Robin’s too bossy and insecure, Patrick is too arrogant and off-putting; I’d rather watch Max and Diane. At least they seem to enjoy each other’s company, which is more than I can say for the Good Doctors.
Meanwhile in a Gothic castle across town, Nadine and Nikolas had sex. Show of hands of people who thought that would end badly. Wow, Nadine is all about the morning after freakout, isn’t she? Granted, I love Alfred, but I wouldn’t care for him showing up with orange juice and pastries while I was naked in a strange bed, either. Allow me to put on a shirt and then I’ll order some chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Alfred should have known better; I mean Nadine is clearly a flakey flight risk, but he was probably just so darn happy his boss was getting laid that he jumped the gun.
I guess Nik recovers from awkward sex by offering to buy hotels that aren’t for sale. I love that his rationale is “I like looking at the Metro Court from my porch”. How about something along the lines of “I wanted to buy the hotel for my son since its named for his mother”, but that would require the writers and Nikolas to remember that he has a son and that Courtney existed. I would like to see Nikolas running a hotel, though. Just imagine all the wacky hi-jinks that would ensue when Helena came to check in? It would be like Fawlty Towers, with more angst but less fun.
Totally true, it’s not fair that Sonny gets to have all the kids and Jax has none. He’s a far better father to Morgan than Sonny ever was. Mac is also another one who’s a great dad but never got to father his own. What is with this show?
Nadine’s freakout was so beyond stupid…I have always liked her (as much as I can like anyone on GH) because she was one of the few sunny people in town, but hijinks like that just don’t work for me.
HA! On the reason Nik wanted the hotel, I was giving it half-assed attention and didn’t catch that. How dumb. I am kinda glad they don’t talk about Courtney ever, she is best forgotten. Plus Spencer is living in a rest home by now due to his rapid aging disease!

I know, I was one of those people holding out for Brenda to return with Jax’s child. Only Brenda won’t return because she’s in a lipstick jungle and judging makeup artists on Lifetime.
Nadine’s freakout intensified today. I’m sorry, but the fact that everyone goes to Spinelli now kills me. Softly. Not in a good way.
