Just a Simple Girl with a Dream

I love Dr. Amanda Cory Fowler as John Black’s new therapist.  What’s even sweeter is how much the Good Doctor Evans hates her.  Who can blame her? I mean the new John Black has left her for younger, prettier models before.  Wouldn’t it be great if John is written out because he falls madly in love with Amanda Cory and moves with her to Europe, like so many Salem ex-pats before him?  Then Marlena would follow like a crazed jackass. 

Speaking of crazy jackasses…Melanie!  I used to like Melanie, but I think the love died when she took the show hostage sometime back in October.  Seriously, she’s the Trojan Horse of soap characters.  She shows up and then infects every storyline.  I half expect her to start dating John at this point.  Now Melanie, all of 18 years old is an Administrative Assistant.  You can tell she’s a member of Generation Y since she expected to land a high powered, big money job.  Or maybe she’s just a resident of Salem, peripherally connected to the Bradys and the Hortons and believes that she’s entitled to a good job just because she’s able to breathe.  Look at Nicole: how many companies has she run?  I bet she can’t even open an Excel Spreadsheet.  I’m not entirely sure that Lucas good manage the ins and outs of GMail yet he’s been on the board at Titan more times than I can count.

Anyway, Melanie lives with Maggie Horton. The logical thing would be for her to wait tables at Chez Rouge, but no.  It’s some Working Girl scenario with Stephanie.  And what’s up with Stephanie’s new 80’s, sleek hairdo?  Is she working for Philip or Robert Palmer?
